Meet Your Neighbor: Mo’s Market, the Saturday farmers market that now has a home on Texas Avenue

If you’ve spent a Saturday morning under the trees at the Lubbock Arboretum with a coffee in one hand and a loaf of bread in the other, you’ve probably met Mo’s Market. Starting today, you can find it indoors, too.

Mo Productions opens Mo’s Market House, a permanent storefront at 1416 Texas Ave., with a grand opening today, Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 6 p.m., according to the company’s event listing. Expect free snacks, giveaways, coffee and a chance to shop the in-house vendors. Lubbock in the Loop and the Avalanche-Journal’s weekly business column both list the Nov. 7 opening.

“Don’t worry, we’ll still be doing events and our weekly farmer’s market,” the company wrote in announcing the space, “but now we have a space you can always find us + our vendors.”

How it started

Mo’s Market is the work of Morgan “Mo” Guffey-Selaya, who calls herself the person behind Mo Productions, Mo’s Markets and Mo’s Screen Headz. In a May 2026 interview with Voyage Dallas, she said she turned to events after a loss in her family, looking for something that could “bring a little joy back” into her life.

Her first event was canceled because of COVID. Later that year, she organized an outdoor market so businesses and makers in her hometown could still sell safely, she said. She later stepped away from events for about a year, moved to Midland, married, and eventually landed in Lubbock. In October 2023, she hosted her first event back under the Mo Productions name.

“Since then, I’ve been incredibly thankful for the way the Lubbock community has embraced what we’re building,” she told Voyage Dallas.

What makes it different

Mo Productions’ About page describes a mix of handmade artisans, small boutiques, vintage finds and one-of-a-kind goods, plus DIY workshops and classes that share skills like homesteading and farming. Guffey-Selaya said she wants her markets to feel open “to everyone, no matter their background or income level,” and built “with heart first.”

She doesn’t do it alone. The company’s site credits Abe as graphic designer and event planner, Meredith with music booking and running Mo’s Screen Headz merch, and Josh with community and sponsor relations.

A busy calendar

The Mo Productions schedule shows how much ground the team covers:

  • Mo’s Market: Every Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Lubbock Arboretum. It’s on today and on Nov. 14 and 21.
  • Mo’s Sunset Market: The second Saturday of the month on Buddy Holly Avenue, with live bands, food trucks and local vendors. Next up: Nov. 14, 6 to 9 p.m., and Dec. 12.
  • Best Buds Market: A First Friday night market at Taste Buds Food Co.
  • Seasonal festivals: This year’s lineup included a Peach Festival in June, the 2nd Annual Autumn Harvest Festival at Sky Gardens in Levelland in October and Mo’s Monster Mash, a Halloween trunk-or-treat and night market in the Depot District.
  • Lubbock Coffee Fest: On Historic Broadway; check the Mo Productions site for the date and hours, because its current listings conflict. Admission is free. A $45 VIP Coffee Crawl Pass gets you eight 4-ounce specialty coffees from eight local shops, and $32 soup flights are back for a third year.
  • 2nd Annual Christmas on Broadway: Saturday, Dec. 5, 4 to 9 p.m., with free photos with Santa, vendors, food trucks and live Christmas music.

Community first

Guffey-Selaya said the part she’s proudest of is the community that’s grown up around the events: small businesses growing, artists making connections and first-time vendors “nervously setting up their very first booth.” Vendors can apply through the Mo Productions website.
