Lubbock’s Veterans Day Parade returns for its 11th year on Saturday, Nov. 14, rolling east down Broadway to the American Windmill Museum. This year the parade’s grand marshals will be World War II veterans, and organizers are still asking the community to help find them.

The 2026 Lubbock Veterans Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14. It begins at Avenue A, heads east on Broadway and ends at the American Windmill Museum, 1701 Canyon Lake Drive. It’s free to watch, and it’s free to march, but participants must register.

This year’s grand marshals: World War II veterans

For 2026, the parade committee is honoring World War II veterans as its grand marshals. That’s a shrinking and precious group, so organizers are asking families and friends to help: if you know a WWII veteran in the Lubbock area, email their name and contact information to loshermanosfamilia@gmail.com.

The “250 Years of Freedom” theme celebrates the American flag and the Pledge of Allegiance. Organizers encourage participants to fly American and service-branch flags and to show off their family’s generations of service.

How to march or volunteer

Tips for watching

  • Get there before 10 a.m. to find a spot along Broadway.
  • Bring a folding chair and a jacket. Mid-November mornings in Lubbock can start out chilly.
  • If you have a veteran in the family, bring them. A thank-you from the curb goes a long way.
