From a Facebook Marketplace tent to ‘the Hub City’s loudest day’: Meet the young co-founders behind LBK Fest

Some Lubbock businesses start with a loan or a storefront. LBK Fest started with an inflatable party tent from Facebook Marketplace.

That tent got Bryson Callaway and Bryce McClaugherty talking, and the conversation turned into a bigger idea: starting a music festival. They didn’t wait long to get going.

“That same night we got no sleep and made the website, logo, ticketing platform, and began to scheme how to turn the dream into reality!” Callaway wrote in his answers to Hub City UnCovered.

The two are co-founders of B2 Productions LLC, the host company of LBK Fest. Texas Comptroller records show the company was formed Feb. 16, 2026. Two months later, Lubbock had a new festival.

Year one at the Ranch at Reese

The first LBK Fest took over The Ranch at Reese Event Center, 1910 Research Blvd., on Friday, April 17, 2026, according to the festival’s FAQ page and its ticketing page. Doors opened at 2 p.m., the music started at 2:30 p.m., and the night ran until 1 a.m.

Austin Meade headlined. The rest of the bill included Keaton Adams, Lawson Knight, Buster and the Innocents, Walker and the White Lines, Landon Fisher, an acoustic set from Rich O’Toole, Tristan Graves and Jackson Vanparys. Food trucks and local vendors filled out the day, from Crumbl and Bahama Bucks to Gianni’s Frosty Treats. EverythingLubbock included the festival in its weekend events roundup that week.

Callaway said he is proud that the idea became “a genuinely known event in such a thriving music city,” and that year one “propelled us into this year which is seeing so much traction and interest from the community as well as the industry!”

He’s also proud of something more personal. “I also never imagined myself starting a company at 20, but now I can proudly say that I am an owner of B2 Productions LLC, the host company of LBK Fest!”

Two young founders who love this town

Asked what sets LBK Fest apart from everything else in Lubbock, Callaway didn’t point to the lineup or the venue. He pointed to who’s running it.

“What makes us different from any other experience in Lubbock is how we are powered and run by two young men who simply just thrive off of their love for the Lubbock community and love for music,” he wrote.

“We know for a fact that music brings strangers together and turns them into family, and this experience has given us a family of people that have changed our lives in so many different ways.”

Co-founder Bryce McClaugherty shared his own thoughts with Hub City UnCovered:

“Lubbock has a lot of talent, and we want LBK Fest to be a place where people come for an artist they know and leave excited about someone they’ve never heard before. That’s something we want to keep building every year.”

A signed poster on the wall at home

His favorite story from year one comes from the festival’s raffle winners. They took home band merch, an LBK Fest hat and a lineup poster signed by everyone from each band and by the people who helped put the festival together.

“That same poster hangs in their house today right beside the unworn hat that they are keeping clean knowing it was from the first LBK Fest!” Callaway wrote. “Knowing that information is enough to keep me working tirelessly to continue to provide an experience for the Lubbock community that has true significance!”

What’s next: Year two on April 17, 2027

The festival’s website, lbkfest.com, now lists year two for Saturday, April 17, 2027, with the featured headliner still “to be announced.” Callaway confirmed that year two will again be at The Ranch at Reese Event Center, and he said the team plans to announce the lineup in January, with a “huge drop date” for tickets in February.

“We are very excited about this lineup we are building and cannot wait to see the reactions from the community,” he wrote. There are a couple of other events “cooking in our heads,” he added, “but for now we are focused on making LBK Fest Year 2 a legendary night!”

Fans who want the news first can join the LBK Fest email list on the festival’s website, which also has pages for vendor and food applications and for sponsors.

And if you’re wondering whether this is a one-time thing, Callaway has an answer.

“I want Lubbock to know that we are here to stay,” he wrote. “We plan for this festival to continue to thrive in the Hub City. We are honored to call this place our home and cannot wait to see what the future has to offer for not only this festival but for this entire city!”

Shout-outs

Callaway says plenty of people helped make the festival a reality. He thanked Mike Goicoechea and the Burn Vodka team, Stacy Keith and the Visit Lubbock team, JR and 107.7, Julie and the Ranch at Reese team, Walker Duke, Thiele Alvarado, Kolton Allen, “and all of the other people who have helped us/encouraged us to keep this event alive.”

“The list could go on forever, but once again thank you to everyone who has played a role in LBK Fest,” he wrote. “See y’all Year 2!”
